We team with physical, speech and occupational therapists to provide a comprehensive range of services. They are also trained in balance management, fall prevention, cognitive (awareness) skills, complex medical conditions and incontinence management.
Physical therapy provides assistance and training to improve or restore physical function and help the individual move more comfortably and relieve pain. The goal is to make daily tasks and activities easier such as walking, getting into and out of bed, going up stairs, etc. The therapist may help with flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination and/or balance.
The goal of speech therapy assistance and training is to regain or improve communication skills, which might include speech, swallowing, and other language skills.
Individuals will use occupational therapy to improve performance in daily living activities such as personal care (i.e., dressing, eating), home skills (i.e., housekeeping, cooking), writing, vision, thinking or judgment skills. In some cases training may be beneficial for learning to use a wheelchair or other assistive devices.
